Review

A new twist on the classic Sherlock Holmes bursts on the scene with an all-star cast. Sherlock Holmes is investigating how the "sorcerer" Lord Blackwood rose from the grave after being sentenced to death for his crimes. The chemistry between Holmes and Watson is riveting. They could banter back and forth for the whole film and I would be entertained, well not really but you get the point. Despite the fact that for some strange reason Sherlock Holmes has become an action superstar, I do love that his wit and charisma is on point!

Sherlock Holmes: You've never complained about my methods before.
Dr. John Watson: I'm not complaining. How am I complaining? When have I ever complained about you practicing the violin at three in the morning, or your mess, your general lack of hygiene, or the fact that you steal my clothes?

Review

Simply put this story is a futuristic alien version of Pocahontas. Humans are the English invading the world of Pandora for precious metals, the Indian's land. Jake is a paraplegic war veteran who was brought to Pandora to continue his twin brother's work. James Cameron outdid himself with this film. Avatar is a one of a kind completely visually stimulating film. The world of Pandora is a ridiculously beautiful place, which explains why some audience members wish it were real. With regards to the 3D element of the movie, I am still not convinced that it added to the films "cool factor", however, it is the first 3D film that those stupid glasses didn't give me a headache so I didn't mind it so much. In short, this movie is stunning with a predictable love story that will make your heart smile.
