Review

I walked into this movie expecting it to be an okay film with lots of action. As the movie progressed I was confused, my initial prediction was correct, it was okay, but it was a little slow. There was a lot of visuals of the new love interest for the guys, at some points it was a little obvious, but I wasn't excited. This was the first half. Then, out of nowhere sh*t hits the fan and my eyes are glued to the screen. I must mention that I watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon in IMAX 3D, best decision, highly recommend. The advertisements for this film bragged they used the same technology as Avatar and I must say I agree. The 3D was awesome. This new girl, Rosie, big improvement from Megan Fox. She actually had a role to play and did it well, besides running and staring into space, although she did that also. I was pleasantly surprised that Transformers: Dark of the Moon took me on one hell of a ride. By the end of the film I didn't care about the stuff that bothered me initially. Thoroughly entertaining.

Review

I stumbled on The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya randomly and I am glad I did. It is rare that a movie comes along that you have absolutely no idea what it is about. Apparently this movie is the continuation from an anime series, who knew. The film is centered around Kyon, a high school student who is in an after school group called the SOS Brigade. One day, he wakes up and Haruhi Suzumiya has disappeared and no one even remembers knowing her in the first place. Despite the fact that this is not the action anime I am used to watching, I was intrigued, surprised and curious to watch the series. This movie is ranked as one of the best by many Anime websites and it is well deserved.

Review

Seeing X-Men: First Class is like seeing Batman Begins. A more serious, more bad-ass version of the movies that have come before. The movie begins with the flashback from Magneto's past seen in the first X-Men movie setting the pace for some serious ish to unfold. This movie captivates its audience and pretty much made me wish I was a mutant. The only negative I can find in this film is the actress playing Moira. Unfortunately, I watched Bridesmaids prior to this and the fact that she was in that as well messed with my emotions for a bit since I hated her in that movie lol. That aside, X-Men: First Class, awesome, go watch, go rent, go buy, go see.

Super 8 pays homage to the film classic, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982). Famed director Steven Spielberg not only gave his blessing but was a producer of the film along with J. J. Abrams. As a result, Super 8 touched on the sentimental without becoming a replica of one of history's best films. What I loved most about this movie is its ability to startle while make science fiction situations seem believable and relatable. The child actors in this film were on point; Elle Fanning in particular was excellent. I've seen it once, and I cant wait to see it again. Lastly, the ending credits... awesome.

Review

Bridesmaids is the type of movie that's funny the first time and progressively gets more funny the more times you see it. Despite assumptions that it might just be a female Hangover, nothing like it, which was refreshing. I have to say though, I wanted to jump through the screen and bitchslap that Helen! LOL! Not sure if women really go through these bridal party issues but if they do, there needs to be a Bridesmaids show following Bridezillas on WE TV, just saying. This movie made me laugh out loud for real and not in my head and then I just type lol to make you feel better. Audiences will be satisfied with this one.
